Chapter 4: Guinness World Record

Guinness World Record, May 11th 2016

THE COLLABORATION between schools and orienteering clubs and with WOC 2016 as the ”engine”, Skol-Sprinten may become the most important activity for expansion of Swedish orienteering. All clubs can make a fantastic contribution that benefits both education at school and orienteering development of the sport to recruit and keep youngsters.

WE HAVE A VISION to set a new Guinness World Record. The current record is from WOC 2003 in Switzerland, when 207,979 young people at 1381 locations ran an orienteering course.

At 2000 locations , Wednesday May 11th 2016, we want to see lots of young people running Skol-Sprinten. We shall beat the old record! 250,000 young people is our
challenging target. The concept is now developed, we have the inspiration and we have enthusiasm. Cool, awesome and educational! Do you want to join us?
